The Badminton U.S. Open 2011 took place in Orange County from July 11 to 16. With Sho Sasaki from Japan and Tai Tzu-Ying from Chinese Taipei as well as three team from Korea, the Asia badminton players dominated this year's Open in California.

The Canadian Open in badminton is an international open held in Canada since 1957. This year it took place from July 19 to 24 in Richmond, British Columbia. Germany Marc Zwiebler as well as the Mixed team with Michael Fuchs and Birgit Michels could interrupt the Asian dominance.
